Melissa A. Bizyak, was honored by the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs (PICPA) with the association’s inaugural Women to Watch award. Four female CPAs from across the State of Pennsylvania were honored at the PICPA Women’s Leadership Conference.
The Women to Watch award is given to PICPA and AICPA members who exemplify leadership and invest in the development of their peers inside and outside the accounting profession. The PICPA is one of many state accounting associations across the country who partners with the AICPA to implement the Women to Watch awards program.
“The PICPA has the pleasure of honoring Melissa for consistently serving as a thought leader and mentor to her colleagues and community,” said Michael D. Colgan, PICPA’s CEO and executive director.
Bizyak, who has more than 20 years of experience as a CPA, is a partner in business valuation and litigation support services group with Grossman Yanak & Ford LLP. A member of the PICPA and American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), she has served as president of the Estate Planning Council of Pittsburgh and on the Executive Board of the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts (NACVA), as well as contributing her time and expertise to other organizations such as the American Heart Association and the Pittsburgh Children’s Museum.
The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) is a premiere statewide association of more than 22,000 members working in public accounting, industry, government, and education. Founded in 1897, the PICPA is the second-oldest and fifth-largest state CPA organization in the United States.
