Megan R. Troxell, was recognized by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) with the association’s Women to Watch award. Four female CPAs from across the State of Pennsylvania were honored with this award, which is given to PICPA members who exemplify leadership and invest in mentorship and development of their peers inside and outside the accounting profession. The recipients will be officially recognized at the PICPA Women’s Leadership Conference to be held in October.
“I have been impressed with Megan at every level as she has risen through her career at GYF, and I am thrilled that the PICPA has recognized her with this honor,” said Melissa Bizyak, a GYF partner who was a 2017 Women to Watch award recipient.
“Megan epitomizes the modern woman in the workplace. Her professionalism, drive, and leadership skills are attributes that those around her admire and strive to emulate. She serves as a wonderful mentor and provides endless guidance to her colleagues on both personal and professional levels.”
Troxell, who has more than 16 years of experience as a CPA, is a senior manager in GYF’s Assurance & Advisory Services Group and serves as a valuable mentor to developing professionals in the firm. She is a member of the PICPA and American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), and a graduate of the Leadership Development Initiative (LDI), a Leadership Pittsburgh, Inc. program that provides young leaders with the tools necessary to effect positive change in the future of the region.
Committed to community service, Megan serves as Vice Chair and as a member of the Board of Directors for George Junior Republic. Additionally, she guides young leaders in their transitions from college life to careers as a Business Mentor through the Pittsburgh Fellows program. Megan is also the Treasurer for Community Bible Study, Pittsburgh-West and an active volunteer with her church and her children’s school.
