Jason P. Hardy, CPA – Director, A&A Services Group
Jason has nearly 20 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in providing financial statement services for a wide range of privately held businesses and nonprofit organizations. He has extensive experience providing due diligence and performing quality of earnings services in both sell-side and buy-side transaction situations. He also has specialized expertise in performing pension plan audits and a long history working with benefit plans and health insurance purchasing cooperatives.
Jason joined GYF as a staff associate in our Assurance & Advisory (A&A) Services Group in January 2006, following his graduation from Geneva College. He has been promoted to roles of increasing responsibility over the years, most recently to his current position of Director. Dedicated and conscientious, Jason has established a reputation for high technical competency and is respected and well-liked by his clients and his co-workers.
He is recognized as a team player who strives to bring the best out of all of his colleagues and helps our younger staff to develop their professional abilities. Jason has been a formal coach to numerous seniors and staff over the years, and also acts an informal mentor to many more.
Leading by example, Jason continues seek opportunities to improve his own expertise. He is a graduate of the National AICPA Leadership Academy and was selected to participate in the Leadership Development Initiative (LDI Class XXVIII), a Leadership Pittsburgh, Inc. program for high-potential professionals. Jason received the 2023 PICPA Young Leader Award in recognition of his dedication to the accounting profession. He is also an involved alumni of Geneva College and visits campus to talk to business students about career opportunities in accounting.
Jason is also willing to share his technical know-how outside of the accounting world. He has served in leadership roles for several nonprofit organizations, including Treasurer for Metro Pittsburgh Youth for Christ and Mighty Penguins Sled Hockey. He also served as a long-term Chair of the Finance Committee at Christ United Methodist Church and was a member of the finance committee of Food Helpers (d/b/a Greater Washington County Foodbank).
Finally, Jason is an active and engaged husband and father to three school-aged children. Despite his heavy workload and community involvement, Jason makes sure he is able to participate not only as a supportive parent, but also as a coach, troop leader and volunteer for his children’s various programs and activities.
